Also known as Globe Thistle, this plant features blue ball-shaped thistle heads on strong stems that grow to height of around 120-180cm. It is attractive to pollinators like bees and butterflies and is ideal for stately borders or as a dried flower.
Sow from early April to early June in open ground or a cold frame. Thin out seedlings as they grow to 5cm apart. Plant out during September and October, spacing 30cm apart for flowering throughout the following summer.
