More usually grown as a salad onion, picked young, but can also be grown as a maincrop if left to mature, that stores well. Dark green leaves and a glossy, intensely red, inner core.

• Planting depth: 1.25cm
• Plant spacing: 2.5-5cm
• Row spacing: 30-45cm
• Seed directly outside in full sun/partial shade in well-drained soil
• When seedlings are 7cm high thin to 5-7cm
